You awoke today, didn't you? And because of that fantastic fact—you are experiencing this ordinary yet profoundly extraordinary phenomena that we call today. As you read this line, you find yourself in today. You've been engulfed and raptured in this reality that we experience known as today—One with it in every way—You in it, and it in you. You live, move, breathe and have your being in today. And because you awoke, you are aware and conscious of it.
It would be impossible for me to convince you otherwise, that today hasn't come. You don't question it. You know and are certain because your senses allowed you to recognise it. You're living in the consciousness of today. Fascinating to comprehend!
Interestingly, you didn't have a say in the matter. This day didn't ask for your permission, but you believed it would appear, and then it came as a gift to you. As soon as you heard the voice of the alarm clock, you awoke. Then you opened your eyes and beheld the bright and glorious sunrise—immediately recognising: A New Day has dawned.
We both share in this wonderful phenomena; hence, we can perfectly understand and relate with each other about it. You exclaim: 'Isn't it a beautiful day today'? And I respond to you: Yes, it is. What're your plans today? There is much opportunity. We can make a financial investment and accumulate money. We can hear, taste and see new things and enjoy the pleasures of today, etc. A myriad of exciting possibilities and treasures lie within this magnificent phenomenon called today that came to us, and now we are alive and conscious of it.
Furthermore, you cannot escape the presence of this great and terrific day that's appeared and manifested. It's impossible to live outside it now since you're immersed in it. You can't live in tomorrow for it hasn't come, and the consciousness of that day cannot be reached nor experienced. You're inside today, and you accept that absolute fact, so you go about your business. Right now, as you read this line, you are taking part and experiencing it, and all of this is possible because you awoke from your sleep. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye', You Awoke—found yourself absorbed in the new consciousness of today. Marvellously, you seamlessly passed from the state of sleep into the state of being awake.
Aren't you grateful you awoke and opened your eyes?
Now let's say that you didn't awake this morning. What would that mean? Well, you wouldn't have seen that bright sunrise. You couldn't experience, taste and see the pleasures of today, could you? You would be dead to all the living possibilities of what today had to offer because you would be unconscious of it. Even though today most certainly came, and the brightness of the sunrise appeared, you couldn't see it while being in the state of sleep. In that state of sleep, your eyes are closed—unaware, and dead to today's presence.
Awake thou that sleepest, arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. (Ephesians 5.14)
Do you know that a New Day that is more real and more glorious has come also?
Do you know that the Bright and Morning Star—Jesus Christ has appeared in this day?
Do you know that Heaven and earth are full of His presence, and in Him, you live, move and have your being?
Sadly, you're asleep and unconscious to it; therefore, you cannot see and experience it. Even though there are spectacular events taken place in this day, like the dead being raised, you can't perceive it!
The Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (1 Thessalonians 4.16)
Even worse, while you sleep, you experience nightmares in which God looks more like the film horror character Freddy Krueger - out to kill and destroy you! And of course, you fear that one day Freddy/God will burn you in hell for eternity! While asleep, you cannot see the brightness of His coming, nor taste and see that God is indeed GOOD—full of love, gracious, and full of compassion.
You are as the Bible says: 'Alienated from God and enemies in your mind'. See, It's all taking place in your mind, that lying dream-like state. As in, you're not, in reality, an enemy for He loves you. But while you sleep, you cannot recognise that. Unless you hear the shout of Jesus Christ: 'Arise', you remain in the tomb.
Would you like to taste and see that God is good, and experience His love and compassion?
Awake thou that sleepest, arise from the dead.
As soon as you hear the shout of Jesus from Heaven, you like Lazarus will immediately exit the tomb of your darkened mind and come forth into everlasting life. Just as you awoke this morning, passing seamlessly from the unconscious state of sleep into the conscious presence of today, you too will hear the voice that says 'Arise', then you will open your eyes, and find yourself raptured in the New Day of Christ.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth. (John 5.24-28)
When you pass from death into life and experience what Jesus speaks of here, you are instantly changed: 'In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye' just as you awoke today. It's a fantastic phenomenon! The change in consciousness is immediate and requires no effort; hence, why all religious activity void of Spirit is utterly futile.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God. (1 Corinthians 15.34)
Unless you awaken to righteousness and possess the true knowledge—the presence of God, you cannot stop sinning! Unless one is born again (into a new state of being), he cannot see the kingdom of God, period! Therefore, unless a real change of consciousness takes place, no amount of religious effort will make any difference—impossible and no amount of penance will change that. The world is full of religious devouts, yet they are asleep. 'Your ancestors ate the bread in the wilderness, yet they died'. Even those who experience signs and wonders like the Israelites, Jesus says: They're dead!
Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11)
Believest thou this? It's a pertinent question. What are you going to do? Do you want to stay asleep like your ancestors, or awake to the New Day of everlasting life?
Do you believe that you are a beloved friend of Jesus and he goes to awake you?
Do you believe He's the resurrection and the life?
